We still
have product so we also will be participating at other events to sell. Among
them: the World of Wheels at the end of the month at McCormick Place
(1/27-1/29), the R&B Supercycle Show at McCormick Place (2/4&2/5) and
the International Bike Show in Rosemont (2/10-2/12). See the calendar of
events for more information. Volunteers are once again needed to work the
booths at these shows. So sign up to help share the workload. We will have
sign up sheets at the upcoming Nomination Meeting (1/6) and Election Meeting
(2/3). We are also contemplating having a TFT swap meet/fund raiser in the
spring or summer. Do not forget that Oak Lawn Harley, Chi-Town Harley and
Illinois Harley all still have Parade products, and Wild Fire Harley has run
pins. Also, Stars and Stripes Silk-screening in Bridgeview and Cigars and
Stripes Pub in Berwyn also have product available. The upcoming Chicago ABATE
Chili Party might also have product available. So thanks to all for helping
however you could. You are too numerous to name. You know who you are.
Elections are nearly upon us.
Please make sure that those you nominate are aware of the tremendous
commitment expected of them. Their personal life is indeed affected as we do
participate in many TFT Parade activities throughout the entire year and they
should indeed be qualified for the task at hand. So make sure the nominations
are because they are capable, as opposed to friendships. We hope that many of
you attend both the nomination and elections meetings, as this is your
organization. You are the ones who elect those to represent our motorcycle
parade organization and maintain our objectives. Just like our national
elections, if you want to speak up, you start with your voting privileges and
selecting qualified candidates. As encouragement we will have a copy of
the City Hall’s Resolution on parchment paper declaring 12/4 officially Toys
for Tots day in Chicago. Every one who votes on Election Day will receive a
copy suitable for framing.
